It does not seem that long ago when we met Jordan & Lauren for martinis at one of our favorite Bangor restaurants, where we talked about how they met and what they have planned and how we could help them with their Maine wedding. They were planning a beautiful fall wedding at one location that we were just DYYYYYING to photograph at this year – Granite Ridge Estate & Barn in Norway Maine. We watched the venue’s transformation online and could not wait for October 17th to roll around. We knew that Jordan & Lauren were going to turn that beautiful venue into their wedding wonderland – and they did!
We started out the day in the estate where everyone got ready. The ladies took the upstairs and the gentlemen took the downstairs. It was just the perfect set up. The bride & groom each have their own separate space to get ready so they don’t see each other until the wedding day. Brandi spent the day with the ladies as they did hair and make-up, while I spend some time with the gentlemen downstairs. Jordan and his groomsmen made sure to have a toast before the big day. It was such a nice moment with all the guys and they had some great things to say about Jordan. They planned out their time with me very well – first making sure we got the toast out of the way, and then they took me down a path to the fire pit. I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect with a trip to the fire pit, but upon arrival I saw that an amazing spot this really was. Another huge benefit of Granite Ridge – THE VIEW!
Jordan & Lauren opted to get married in a cute little church not far from the venue. It is just what you would want a church in Maine to look like – complete with a beautiful field behind with some great fall foliage. We were REALLY lucky this year with foliage and the colors held on for almost the entire month of October. For Jordan & Lauren that meant that they had just about peak foliage for their wedding day when most years they were getting married in the past peak season. These Maine wedding photographers were not complaining! The highlight of the ceremony was the poem that Lauren’s brother wrote for them. There was not a dry eye in the entire house. It was either tears of joy or tears from hysterical laughing. I’m sure they will remember that moment for ever.
With the help of Blue Elephant Catering and Matt James Entertainment the reception was simply amazing! The venue was amazing and the food was to die for. During the reception the dance floor was packed for almost every single song. The guests had a blast, as did we.
Jordan & Lauren thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your beautiful event. We are so happy to have met you and so happy that we could share this day with you. We wish you nothing but happiness as you start your life together.
